Cybex 600R Treadmills
Cybex fitness equipment have often been described as “caviar priced” high-end models. When shopping for the 600R treadmill, you are highly encouraged to conduct due diligence and search for product at various online retailer sites - because for higher costing stuff, there's usually a bigger variance in the price various retailers charge. (The 600R is no longer listed in the Cybex webpage – www.cybexintl.com – and has likely been discontinued.) There is no question however that the manufacturer originally intended this treadmill to compete in the high end space. A powerful 3.0 hp motor is one of the more powerful types in the treadmill industry; the motor supports speeds up to 12 mph and incline range up to 15%. The 20 by 58 inch running belt provides ample surface area, so this is a non-issue. The Cybex 600R comes with both pulse grip and wireless chest monitor – some people do not use this feature but may be important for those who have to constantly monitor their health condition.
Advantages:
1. Heavy duty 3.0 hp motor, one of the more powerful treadmill motors in the industry
2. User weight capacity of up to 350 pounds.
Disadvantages:
1. Expensive. New equipment (if you can find one) can go up to $4,000. There are online retailers selling refurbished treadmills for a lot cheaper, in the $1000 - $2000 range. Buyer beware if you go that route.
2. Seems to be a discontinued product, which can make it harder to get repairs and parts
