Merit 725t Treadmills
Merit Fitness 725T model is a respectable, middle-of-the-road treadmill priced at approximately $500 to $600. (Merit Fitness is a division of Johnson Health Tech which is one of the world’s largest fitness equipment manufacturers.) This folding treadmill allows you to work out on a 1.25 continuous horsepower (2.25 total horsepower) motor with a speeds up to 10 mph and elevation up to 10%. The Aerosoft cushion system, belt thickness of 1.3 mm, and running area of 18 by 45 inches provide respectable comfort. The weight limit is 250 pounds, and thus may not be suitable for larger fitness enthusiasts. Unfortunately there is no built-in fan (considering the price paid). There are, however, two cup holders, heart monitor, and four preset programs. This is a standard, respectable treadmill. However, if you shop around for various models, you will likely find comparable features priced at $100 or so cheaper than this one. If you are bent on buying the 725T, be careful where you purchase it. The price can exceed $600 for a model that sells at other online retailers for less.
Advantages:
- Warranty: Lifetime on the frame, 2 years for the motor, but only 90 days for parts and labor.
- Functional consoles with LCD displays get the job done on this equipment.
Disadvantages:
- Shopper can save $100 or so getting a cheaper model with roughly comparative features if there is an emphasis on cost saving.
- Standard model without key differentiators, given its price.
