Popular Treadmill Brands
Treadmills are some of the leading exercise
machines for aerobic workouts across the world. They are so popular that
they are manufactured by dozens of different companies, each looking to make
its name in the industry. Here are some of the most well known treadmill
manufacturers and a little bit of information about what they bring to the
table.
1.
Landice
If you have ever seen a Landice treadmill, you have
no doubt seen a fairly high quality system. Landice is one of the best in
the industry for high quality treadmills, and they develop treadmills for
both the home and commercial markets.
2.
Precor
Like Landice, Precor creates some of the highest
quality treadmills at some of the highest costs (there are Precor models
that cost as much as $7000). They do create home exercise machines, but they
are best known for their commercial products and are found in gyms
nationwide.
3.
NordicTrack
NordicTrack makes some good machines, but they are
on the low end of the price scale for treadmills. They are reliable but not
loaded with features and somewhat prone to wear and tear, though they also
have an extensive line so this is not true with all of their models.
4.
Spirit
Spirit is a Taiwanese treadmill manufacturer that
offers lower middle priced treadmill models. They offer a variety of models
that are under $2000, though few are considered truly “value brand” like
some of their competitors.
5.
New Balance
New Balance is on the lower end of treadmills
available. They have a variety of models that range from $1000 to $2000, but
none on either the higher or lower ends of the price scale. New Balance
makes solid treadmills, but hardly exemplary. If you are going to look at
the higher priced New Balance models, check out the lower priced Precor
models as well.
6.
Vision Fitness
Vision Fitness is similar to Landice, in that they
have treadmills that span the price ranges for both commercial and home
users. They are a newer company but have made a name for themselves across
the aerobic machine industry.
7.
Stex Fitness
Stex Fitness creates the Rolls Royces of the
Treadmill world. They are considered commercial due to their extremely high
cost (generally around $8000) but also provide a lot of features that people
enjoy in the home, such as a built in LCD TV and a variety of heart rate
monitoring systems and preprogrammed workout routines. Stex makes some of
the best treadmills around, but you are rarely – if ever – going to find an
easily affordable Stex treadmill.
Though brand names should not be the only reason
you choose a specific treadmill, they do provide you with an effective
starting point for understanding which brands supply you with quality
products and which can be expected to deliver the results that you want. If
you find a treadmill by any of the above brands, chances are it is going to
be one of the better ones for its price class.
