Let me start off by saying that I think this is a great product, and a great buy at that. You’ll see heavy steel construction and plenty of frame support to make your heavy running routines steady, stable, and with minimal equipment vibrations. The 3.0 continuous horsepower motor can facilitate an intense routine – if that’s what works for you – with a speed range up to 12 mph, up to 15% incline, and a comfortable running space of 20 by 55 inches. There are 12 quick speed and elevation buttons – as you might expect, there are the standard running measurements. The display also offers a ¼ mile track for easier tracking of progress. Additionally, there is a CD/MP3 interface with built in speakers as a great electronic component.
Be careful where you buy the Spirit Z100, there is a degree of price variability out there, from $700 up to $1,700! Make sure you purchase a new one from the cheapest source! If you can purchase it on the lower end of price range, then this treadmill is probably a great buy. In fact, it might be one of the best value deals among the high end treadmill offerings.
Advantages:
- An overall great product – if you can buy at the right price.
- Lifetime warranty on the frame, 30-year warranty on the motor, five-year warranty on the electronics and consumable items, and one-year warranty on labor. (Is this too good to be true?)
- With a weight capacity of 330 pounds – which is impressive by industry standards – we can infer that the Z100 is a solid and dependable platform for even intense routines.
Disadvantages:
- Large price variability among retailers can lead unsuspecting shoppers from undue payments of several hundred dollars.
- Reserve that part of the house for this big baby. No space economizing permitted here.
